If you don’t like shaking hands or the kiss of peace, try grabbing the person next to you warmly by the throat and offering them the right knee of fellowship. I find it works every time!

We’ve just been worrying that our “wandering intercession” bit in family services has got more social and less prayerful. But the general conclusion was that the service needs that kind of interaction in it too, and sacrificing a bit of “atmosphere” for that might be just as well. You’re at least never tempted to think yourself holy if you’re talking to your neighbour!
